This is our insulated coop for our 5 chickens. We live in quebec, Canada and the temperature can get as low as -30 during winter. We built it small(4x8) to help with heating. We will add another window on the side for more day light because they wont go out much when its -30.

Wow nice job it looks great, I would put some metal roofing on the run roof to let the snow slide off and I wrap my run on 3 sides with a heavy canvas and a clear shower curtain on the front, let's alot of sunshine in and acts like a greenhouse, mine stay out in the run all day, with no wind and no snow it's actually not to bad as far as temperature.

Those roof panels are great I used the 12ft solar grey color, the snow slides right off, there will be more air flow in the run than the coop if you lock them in the coop for the winter they will Shirley get frostbite, the more and better air flow the better it is for them, they create alot of moisture through breathing and pooping let alone the waterer you'll have to have in there.

We added 3 sq ft of ventilation today.

We also added an energy efficient window on the side of the coop ( 1x2 ft)

We changed the 2x3 roots for 2x4s

We are almost ready for winter! We built our coop in our existing shed and most of our ventilation is inside the shed so we will be adding a wind turbine on the shed<s roof. ( The coop is about 4x8ft but it looks smaller on the pics.)

Looks great that window will make a huge difference, the roost will be much more comfortable and I like the security camera, you'll enjoy watching the chicken shenanigans.

We had to remove the tiles on the coop´s floor because it made the bedding very slippery and we worried about their safety (Work in progress)

Here's a little winter update of our coop. We added solarium roof panels over the run and thick plastic all around it. There is plenty of ventilation and its really successful at warming up the rum during the day. Yesterday -11c outside, +3c in the run! the only heat source is the heated waterer.
