Insulating Coop

batting will be fine if you use a vapor barrier and finish off the walls. Well, either way (even with bead board) you will need to finish off the walls so they don't peck at the foam/glass.

Are you still building yours based on Steve's henhouse?

Ditto on what CARS wrote....I'm going to use rusty roofing tin to protect the insulation from a previous chicken house....it's real cheap and better than wood, washes down easily.

We put the pink foam insulation in, and then covered it with the concrete sheets. Otherwise they will eat the foam like it is cotton candy!!

It is washable and I scrub it all down 2x per year.

Kept 'em warm (with a heat lamp) up to -37F this winter.
