Good ventilation, which is essential, makes heating the coop moot.
Do heat the waterer tho.

I have 2 12" furnace vents at the peaks. Is that enough?

Depends on how many chickens you have. You should have about 1 square foot of ventilation for every chicken. Chickens make a LOT of moisture when they breathe and poop.

And they are both at the top. Should any be low?

Or 12 x 4?

If the vents are 12 inch square, then, with 2 vents, that is the minimum ventilation recommended for 2 chickens.

If they are both 12x4, then you are under the minimum recommended for a single chicken.

9 chickens, the vents are 12"x3". Adding more though. I see that is not enough.
