Integrating 7 new hens into my flock

The older couple that I work for part time are getting out of the backyard chicken business. They have decided to give them to me so I picked them up two nights ago and put them in with my existing flock. My question is how long will I need to leave the new ones locked up so that they consider their new coop "home" before I begin to let them out in the mornings. I free range my chickens and only lock them up at night.

I would keep them sleeping in the new coop at least 4 nights. Then, if possible, keep them in a penned area around the coop till they get used to landmarks so when they forage, they can find their way home.

From what you wrote, I guess you didn't quarantine the new birds.
