Integrating chickens

RR Thanks for all the valuable information. Today I took the plunge and integrated 7 golden comets (15 weeks old) raised from day olds, in with my flock of 3 year old golden comets. They have been visually together for a few months but today they had a supervised visit. Some pecking and rushing about, but the little ones had lots of room to get out of the way. I have a large fenced area 20 x 30, a small barn in the corner of the area and in the barn a protected chicken coop wired so no critters can get in. The older chickens are out free ranging for a few hours each day, and happily come running for corn niblets when it is time to fence them in. Coyotes in the area, luckily we have not been bothered by other critters.

One patient and loving husband, two border collies (one with a chicken pecked nose) and one dear old cat.
