Hi! Months ago I got silkies from a local farm who had and gave my chicks coccidiosis. I currently have a flock outside and my new coop comes next week- my question is regarding integrating them! My chicks were fully treated, the silkies came from a place that didn’t vaccinate or treat chickens against coccidiosis. When I integrate the silkies and chicks outside with my current flock is my current flock going to get sick ? Also I have six 2 week old chicks that will evntually
Go with everyone too- what should I do about them? To add- the silkies never had symptoms, they were fine- the chicks had ruffled feathers, bloody stool, hunched over and one didn’t make it

Anytime you add new birds to new soil and/or new birds, you're going to have new strains of coccidia oocysts introduced to the environment. At that point any bird that has not built up immunity to that specific strain can become infected with an overgrowth of the strain they've just been exposed to.
I like to keep Corid on hand just in case anybody shows the slightest sign of symptoms and then treat immediately.

Oh trust me I have it on hand because I am traumatized from my
Chicks having it! Can my treated chicks give it to my not treated chicks at this point?
