Integrating new birds from the same town

I was reading on here that it is best to quarantine new birds before adding them to your flock. Is this true if the birds come from the same town? I have a lady wanting to give me two hens because she is moving but I don't have the resources to quarantine new birds.

Only if you have visited this flock every week or so, know the owner, have perhaps traded stock before, etc. In other words, one can sometimes have such a knowledgeable relationship with a neighbor or nearby friend that the risk can be taken. Just because the flock is across town is not really enough, in my opinion. But, It's up to you.
