I successfully managed to sneak 4 day olds under my broody hen. She had been separated from the flock in the coop and the little are now almost 4 wks old. I have had them in my chicken tractor spending time along with my 4 other hens who free range. ( no rooster)
How old should they be before they can move into the coop at night with their Mom and the other ladies?
Thinking the nesting boxes might need to be covered …..
Suggestions ?
Thanks

Why at night?

I would open up at daytime, so you can see what happens.
If the mothers is good, she protects her chicks if necessary.

Much space and much clutter helps a lot.
