I have a flock of 8 week old chicks out in the coop and just got an 11 week old roo. I am having a hard time with introductions, ladies can be mean! Any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated. All they want to do is peck him and all he wants to do is jump at them! He is so sweet so I know he feels very threatened by these little monsters. In the flock I have a 8 week old Australorp roo, but he is a big wimp so he isnt the issue, its just the ladies! They have plenty of room and are otherwise happy so I know there is no overcrowding, it just seems to be territorial.
HELP! I do not want this sweet roo to live inside forever!
I have free ranged him outside of the run with them in it for a little while its just when he goes in that they really freak out on him.
