Hi all,

I have a small flock of 5 pullets. all about 16 to 17 weeks old. A friend lost her chickens all except for one and she's about the same age if not a lil bit older. So my questions is, would it be safe to integrate one chicken into the flock? Or should it really be two at a time at this point? Also, can anyone recommend a good source to read about the most effective way to do it safely? I've read so many different accounts, I just don't know. She's so lonely!

It shouldn't be an issue as they are all pretty much the same age and grown. Might want to add her to the coop at night. Watch for any aggression for a while. They will sort out a new pecking order when you add her but shouldn't be too rough. If there are problems you may want to put a divider of some sort in the run so they can see each other for a few days then try again. And
