Integrating two groups

Hi Anuthatch,
Thank you for checking in. My integrating went well i think. They shared the common pen with no major issues at all (so far). They also free-range the majority of the day which keeps them all occupied. I closed off the small coop and started having them all sleep in the main coop together. Last night was the third night. The three littles at three months old now do into the main coop with the big girls one on the littles roost fine the other two i had to put on the roost. Last night I found all of the three littles sleeping in a nest box together so i put them on the roost myself. When I checked on them later on they were still there on the roost. I guess i need to block off the nest boxes for a short time at night until they get the hang of it themselves. My challenge is going to come when my broody (again) EE hen starts to join the gang in the main coop again. She seems to be the only one that presents an issue. She is at the bottom of the pecking order to begin with. Might even be last in line with the big girls. I'll keep you posted!

I've read all your thoughts and advice and I'm so thankful I have you members to talk to. I've decided that there really is no rush (just me wanting them together now while the weather is better). I will wait till the younger girls are about 16-18 weeks old and then....just open the door and watch what happens. Hope they get along. Thanks
