Integrating

Hello everyone! I have some 4 1/2 week old silkies that I want to put with my 8 week old chicks. I'm afraid that my other chicks will not do so good with the silkies since silkies are bantam and are smaller. Will they be fine? What should I do?

Your 8 week olds can move in with the rest of your full grown flock from when chicks are 6 weeks they can move in with a full grown flock and you can move your 4 1/2 week olds in to the week olds current brooder. if your 8 weeks are your main flock then don't put the 4 weeks in with them

chickenfarmer22 i've had good luck dipping the heads of the new chickens into the drinking water of the current residents, it seems to make them smell familiar and most of the time I haven't had trouble integrating, even with adult hens and pullets
