I just think the whole problem comes down to that coop being too small, especially for the BJG.

What shelf?

There is a shelf in the outbuilding that the coop is positioned in.

The enclosure is three and a half walls, with a grid wire fence to close it. So critters could get inside the enclosure but we’ve had good luck so far.

That’s a consideration.
She is going in willingly now, but she’s camped out on the shelf with her friend at around 8pm, but I sing their roosting song and she goes in,
So basically I have to round her up.

but the Bantam, who is not laying yet is unfazed. She lets me scoop her up and put her in before I close the door. I have the door set to open before sunrise so everyone can get out as soon as they wake up.
