After a few weeks of my olive and Easter egger pullets living within the main coop and run in their own makeshift dog exercise pen enclosure (so that pullets and hens could see each other but not have contact), we took the enclosure apart and let the young girls mingle with the established hens during free range time a little over a week ago! Everything went well with the big girls only giving out a warning peck here and there. Things got a little more intense once everyone was closed up in the coop and run, but the young girls held their own and the big girls have not been overly aggressive in the slightest. The four of them have been coexisting together now since 6/2 with no incidents and the only issue to overcome now is getting the young girls to roost on their own (they are only 10 weeks old and I know the desire to roost will develop in time).
