Interchangeable antibiotics?

Yes But On Dogs/Cats. Feathers Were A Different Ball Game. Luckily Principle Is The Same. Ive Never Had To Do A Muscle Though Nervous About that. gave her the shot in the "Scruff" of her neck
after I elevated her food and water she did consume on her own. I guess it's a good thing she wasn't feeling well since I was giving the shot solo. thanks for asking after us

Alright. Let me know if I can help as time goes on. Now vitamins-electrolytes, in addition to probiotics added to water are beneficial during injectible treatment with antibiotics. Especially if the appetite is poor.

When should I see a decrease in the swelling? So far there is no noticeable difference, her eye is still swollen shut. Other than a warm soft cloth to keep it clean, is there anything I should be doing to it?

Keep the eye clean and flush it out with eye wash if it gets crusty. Are the nostrils clear? Wash your hands before and after handling the bird. It has been less than 48 hours since you began treating the bird with Tylan 50 injections under the skin on the back of the neck, right?

This vet is reputable and have spoken with him before. These directions for nasal flush work, but it is important to keep the birds beak pointed towards the ground as to not aspirate the bird:

Also, sterile water boiling water in a clean pan and letting it get back to room temperature. The nasal flush may give the bird quicker relief.

Got the cleaning. (of the eye and my hands) Nostril on swollen side is mucky I clean that when I clean the eye. Started Tylan50 on Wednesday so yes less than 48.

I might just be wishful thinking but it does seem to be a fraction less inflamed this morning, not as red and angry looking.

For a minute I thought I had to worry about her laying but Nope, she deposited an egg in her food dish yesterday! LOL I was home and she never made a peep about doing. Had a good laugh there as I flushed the egg down the drain.

Thank you for the flush info, I'll keep it posted on how that adventure goes...

****! another one is showing signs of swelling! Sigh so now new questions.
Can they be housed together?
Gonna start her on Tylan too I guess? and
Should I just start putting antibiotics in the group water to control this?

Here are directions for flock treatment: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/836012/interchangeable-antibiotics#post_12279843
Separate the ones showing symptoms from those which are not. Take it from there. If it were me I would do a flock treatment. That means treating them all. CRD can be airborne or spread from birds drinking or eating together.
