(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I currently don't have any chickens, but am interested in getting some. I had a few chickens when I was about 10yrs old, and last year my buddy asked if I wanted some cull layer birds, but I didn't know where I would keep them.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

0

(3) What breeds do you have?

n/a

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

I was searching for how to build a chicken coop for ideas on how to make a chicken coop out of an existing building

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I'm an outdoorsman, so I enjoy hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I'm married to my wife for almost 7yrs, we live on an 80 acre property with mostly trees, my wife has two horses and we have three dogs. When we bought this property it had a barn that was falling down so we burnt it and the chicken coop was right beside it so it went up too (now in hind sight........).

from Washington, Koop! Sounds like you have a great place there:) If you haven't done so already, check out the Breeds page here at BYC to get some ideas as to what kind(s) of chickens you may be interested in. And have fun!

Chickens are a great idea. You will really enjoy them. I also have 2 horse and 25 acres. There is several great ideas on coop building on byc. We built ours out of an old dog pen. It works great. Nice to hear from you.
