Interested in Pheasants, what would be a good breed?

Hi All, I've been into chickens for a long time now but lately I have been thinking about Pheasants as well. Can any one tell me what a good first breed of Pheasant would be (You know, a Friendly, quiet, and calm breed).

For a period of time I raised ringnecks as a part time commercial venture. They are hardy, and now come in color variations that were unknown way back then. Understand that most if not all states require a license to keep them. Ornamentals like goldens and Lady Amherst are beautiful and relatively mellow birds.

Okay thanks. Oh and about the license, I don't think that you are required to have one in Canada!

Most provinces in Canada need a license for ringneck pheasants and the like, ornamental dont need such permit tho.

The Red Golden and Lady Amherst are great birds to raise, but if you want birds really friendly then Temminck's Tragopan are the breed for you. I really love mine and I am trying to train them to fly to my hand to get their treats. Eared pheasants are friendly but I have heard that they are loud...
