I got 3 barred rocks all at the same time. They can't be more than a day apart if not from the same brood. The one is definitely a female - darker and black legs. The other 2 I thought for sure we're males: white dot on head and predominately white. But of the 2 males, one has a definitely crown while the other is barely there and pale. I'm sure it's a male based on color but curious why one is so defined while the other isn't. Can someone provide input?

Just like how people mature at different rates, some hit puberty at 12 and others not until 16-17, it just depends on the chick in question.

I have a rooster that is 1 year, 3 months old, and still not mature enough to breed, so it just depends.

So interesting! Seems I'm always learning at every age. :)
