New rather interesting growth & developments.

1. Largest rooster’s voice is changing. Seriously! When I pick him up now—it’s been about a week—he now “honks” in a basso profundo!

2. Said rooster (Archie) apparently has a girl friend. Now, I do believe it is somewhat one sided as she snuggles up to him—not the other way around.

3. Archie MAY be a lothario...I have noticed him snuggling with one or two others.

4. Chicken reaction to something new: I put ice in their water bowl. All five crowded around..talking among themselves saying:
- what’s THAT?
- I don’t know—looks weird!
- well, I’m not goin near it! No way.

5. It is very crowded in the bathtub!! But, it is so HORRIBLE outside. Just AWFUL. They are all panting outside and I don’t blame them! All those feathers!!! While the are crowded inside, at least they are cool... Plus they get along well together and everyone sleeps together in a big mass. No meanness at all. When will this weather break??

6. I don’t have Chickens I have goobers. They are so awful… They will eat fresh blueberries only if I hand feed them. I put them in their dish And they act like they are

7. They will not eat peas or strawberries.

8. They have a playpen I put them in first thing in the morning...they have chicken races. You can watch them move from upright to almost horizontal... then start running. Hilarious... especially from behind.

that’s my update. Anyone else have stories of their teenagers???

Mine are only about 3 1/2 weeks old, but already they're developing personalities.
One is a grey, or blue EE, and I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a roo. He's big, stocky leged, and rushes up to some of the others and wants to have a "face-off" with them, like a big man, lol.
Most of the ones he chooses to go up to will either ignore him, or will oblige with a stare-down of their own. Then they'll look at each other, face to face, and do little "hops" with their necks stretched and dance in a circle for a few seconds.
Cracks me up every time, I wish I could get a video of it.
