On July 29, 2019, I candled this egg and thought that this was an odd spot for the bill, so I decided to make a hole where the arrows are:
Once opened a little, I realized it wasn't the bill, it was the hock joint, which meant the duckling was upsidedown.
So I made the decision to peel away the shell to expose the bill. The duckling hadn't pipped internally yet, so I made a hole in the membrane so it could breathe and I covered the rest of the membrane with Neosporin and put it back in the incubator.
On July 30, 2019, I removed the membrane in the am, then in the evening I removed the shell and the rest of the membrane and put it back in the incubator.
Here is the duckling on 7/31/2019 - It's very weak, so I will probably give it some NutriDrench and fluids orally.
