Interesting Picture of Chickens Sleeping

The following photographs are of Eduardo and Sallie sleeping on front porch. They are out cold with heads nearly tucked under secondaries of right wing. Looks as if synchronized.

First in near infrared.

Second in visible light.

I wonder if either corresponds to what owl sees when its trying to steal my birds.

I posted because many posts with photographs described as sleeping are of awake/disturbed birds on roost.​

my birds must be heavy sleepers b/c i could take a million pics of them sleeping

lol...i suppose there used to me checking on them

Yes, frequent checks on birds get them used to disturbances. Mine get bothered 3 to 4 times a night.

Sure hope they remembered to apply a little underwing deodorant before going to roost.

Mine all sleep with their heads hanging down off the roost. Have since they were chicks.

Very interesting. I think they're beautiful pictures.
I'd love to blow them up, hang them on my wall and wait for people to ask, "What's that supposed to be?".
