The Welp chicks are well-integrated with the adults and are sleeping on top of their playpen instead of inside it so I did some redecorating today.
I recruited the 16yo and we got the playpen structure out, taking the pen itself out completely but using some of the other pieces in the run. Then I built another juvenile roost and used the playpen's broken lid to make a privacy screen in the place that I want to eventually put a permanent divider so that I can use that section of the coop as a brooder area more easily.
I set up the various pieces of scrap board and scrap metal roofing as hideouts and visual screens and put the chicks feeder and waterer in there -- though they use the adults' feeders and waterer too (I gave them steps to stand on).
