I have a year old Barnavelder who has had a broken egg inside for a month or so and she had not gotten sick yet and is still laying eggs. So that's the good news but the bad news is I have tried flushing her with warm and cool water, and tried to extract it by hand and neither has worked. I'm worried if it does not come out she will get infected and die. I read an old forum entry that talked about not being able to feel the shell from the inside but only from the outside of her underbelly.?. This is my problem to, aM i DOING IT WRONG?? I want to try again but I dont want to hurt her. should I flush her with water first then try removing it? I just lost one of my favorite hens and don't want to lose this one too. Thanks for your help!
