Oh boy! This chick really wants out of that shell. External pip approximately 4 hours after internal pip was observed.

The other Day 18 chick has pipped internally!

Anybody knows if Silkie embryo beaks will darken before hatch? A 3rd egg set on same day as these 2 and died around Day 14-16 had black skin seen through membrane at air sac; confident it was all or mostly Silkie, I didn’t break it out to have a closer look. Mum’s a purebreed Silkie, no idea who their Dad is as she was mated before I adopted her. Was hoping for purebreed chicks.
