I have four goose eggs in the incubator, we're supposed to be on day 26. I took them out of the incubator to candle them today and saw that one had internally pipped. Initially, I didn't know what I was looking at since I have never hatched eggs before. Once I figured it out, we put them back in the incubator and locked it down. But now I'm concerned that since I picked up the egg and handled it that I might have turned the gosling around in the shell. Is there any way to tell if he's facing the right way?

I took a quick look this morning and he's still moving in there, but I didn't see an obvious beak shape.

Congratulations! What’s the status of your hatch now? I put 5 goose eggs into lock down on Thursday (5/27/21) - day 27 & I candled them before I put on lockdown and I also noticed one had already internally pipped!! That one externally pipped Friday night & hatched sat day 29 at noon! I wasn’t expecting to see any action until Sunday at least! Pleasantly surprised!

What a sweetheart!! :love
He's making very slow progress. Started zipping but has only made about an inch of progress. The shell is broken but I can't see inside, if that makes sense.

Yes if you can post a pic!? Since my comment to you another one of my goslings hatched ! So we are up to 3 with 2 left! Is your egg moving and can u hear the gosling chirping ? The process does take a while, I have one egg I am concerned about in my clutch. I have gotten very little sleep since first external pip Friday lol it’s like human labor exhaustion struggles 🤣

The egg is wiggling on a regular basis but I haven't heard it chirp at all. I was hesitant to post a pic before because the egg is kinda dirty and I know it's not recommended to incubate dirty eggs because of bacteria. It was laid right before I was going to incubate the rest and wanted to throw it in, but read mixed things online about cleaning. Anyway, here's a pic

It's not great quality but you can see the cracking.
I had also been struggling the last few days to get my humidity up to where I wanted it for lockdown. I have set it for 75% and it was only staying around 65%. I realized I had my sponge trays flipped and the humidity is fine now, but it's made me concerned that perhaps it was a little too dry initially.

Ohh that’s your initial external pip ! It hasn’t broken thru the air cell just yet, so it’s still doing it’s thing & will stay like that for a quite while, like hours and hours!! Once the hatch begins the humidity will spike up good, I was adding hot water to my unit every 2-3 hours before they started hatching to keep the humidity above 70 and now it’s holding! You will hear them once they have broke. Thru the shell and u can see their little beaks gnawing away LOL Posting a pic below of my first egg after he broke the shell
