I had 5 beautiful bared rocks until a week ago then I figured it was time for me to pay for a few things I did when I was young. Two of my girls were fighting over the position on the roost which is 7 feet off the floor ( this was between #4 and #2 or " cartman" ) and when they fell it broke both they're necks. Then three or four days after that a dog got into the yard and killed one and maimed another bad enough that I had to help it along. Now I have just one left and she is miserably lonely so my wife said we needed to bring her into the house. After I came out of shock ( I'm the chicken person ), I said good she needs more comfort than a coop big enough for10 or 12 chickens can give her. So wee ordered a diaper for her, ( gets here Monday ) and we will be ready to bring her in. I just was hoping I could get some questions answered. She is 16 months old now.
1) Does she stay in here at night
2) What about eggs, she still lays about one a day, I mean does she lay it in the diaper
3) Do we let her out when she wants to

I guess that's it for now anyway
I know I'll get some good advice so thank you for your help.

Sorry for your loss.I had hens inside for injury or illness. They were kept in a dog crate, playpen,or cage. After a day or 2 the started laying. They could use a box or wood bar to roost on.I never let my hens roam.I would constantly clean the poop out of the bedding.

I would keep my hen inside.I had one inside for a month or 2 till I dispatched her.I got one in the garage that will never get well enough to reintro,so I might bring her in for a while.
