Just moved my eight 2.5 week old black sex link's into the 4x4x2 brooder. They love the extra room and, since I keep them on a screened back porch, I don't have to worry about outdoor temperature fluctuations as much. In the big brooder, the temp ranges widely, so they can easily find a comfortable spot. It is also big enough to grow them out to "coop-size" even when I eventually add a roosting pole later.
This is a fun stage for me. They flit around like miniature prairie chickens, popping up in the hair and dancing around each other. Nice way to relax after work. Just pull up a chair and watch the show.
