Hatch #1 for this staggered incubator session: 14 with a loss of 2. Of the two that were bleeding at hatch time, 1 didn't make it. Then, our last straggler chick from Saturday hatched on Sunday. He never absorbed his yolk and it looked like it filled up with blood. I had another late one do that once. He passed on last night. Monday's Buff Orpington x Rhode Island Red brought us back up to 12.

Temperatures dipped this morning because the cat got the front door open. Little Giants are super sensitive to that sort of thing and both my hatchers are Little Giants. I checked them this morning. Both hatchers were around 95*F. Hopefully not for long. I was able to get the ducks back up there pretty quickly.
