Thanks for the words of encouragement. I have never owned chickens but, am excited to get started. I will probably be ready by spring of 2016. I just bought my land and need a coop first. I will keep studying though.

The Learning Center is the best place to start. It has everything from how to select a breed that best suits your circumstances to setting up the brooder, protecting against predators, the best treats for chickens, etc.
