Western Wyoming
A friend and neighbor down the street put me unto this site. I live in a mountain valley (6500 ft) in Western Wyoming.

Pic from the front yard (Neighbor's house across the street).

We've raised layers and broilers in the past, but have been out of the loop for a couple of years. Finally got an order off to Dunlop a few weeks ago.

The orders usually show overnight. This batch was shipped on Tuesday and didn't show up until this morning (Friday). I'm not very pleased with the USPS right now. I was fearing the worse. Ended up with 25 Cornish Crosses, a straight run of 27 Rhode Island Reds, 4 Aracunas, and 6 mixed Cochin bantams. They threw in a half dozen extra, per the norm for Dunlop Hatchery. Only one looked a bit weak. We lost it later this morning, the rest (15 hours after picking them up) seem chipper.

It'll be nice having a few layers wandering the yard and broilers in the freezer. It looks like a nice community on this site.

Welcome to BYC!

Beautiful place you live in..

Where in Big Wonderful Wyo are you?

I have a good friend that lives in Freedom.

And where is Dunlop at?

I am about 25 miles or so South of your friend in Freedom. Dunlap (Not Dunlop, that was a typo, but I hear a good place to get tires...) is in Caldwell, Idaho.

Sound like somewhere near Bedford... I slept on the grass in a sleeping bag near a church there once when our scout troop made a trip to the Tetons and Yellowstone 38 years ago!

ETA... I guess Auburn or Grover would be closer to 20 miles.

from So. California!

Your property is gorgeous! I have TONS of family in eastern Idaho (near Idaho Falls) and my uncle and his family live in Afton, WY. Beautiful area! I was up there a week ago and, boy!, all the rains you guys have been having has made everything bloom at once! My allergies were killing me!

I've never seen it so green before!

BarkerChickens, I'm three miles south of Afton. Who are your family here (PM if you don't want to post names)?

BabyLady4, in what part of Wisconsin are you? I spent the first 12 years of my life in the Rudolph, Rapids, Nekoosa area.

If you like my front yard, take a gander at the "country"...
