Hey everyone I have been raising and caring for my chickens for a few years now. So glad for the internet it’s been a lot of help. I’m so glad to find this group finally after a few years of self teaching.
I have some questions and just looking for general advice on what it takes to
Make it a business versus hobby or I was wondering if I did the proper paperwork etc., could I donate eggs to the local food bank (just would be nice to give back. We donate everything usually) However I was wondering if there is a tax deduction at all for this type of donation? Just would be a win win. Thank you I’m advance for any information and guidance

You may find that you are prohibited from donating eggs to food banks because of health and safety reasons.

Just figured it would be nice to give back I know you get a “deduction” for donations but food is a whole
Other bag just was curious if anybody had any info. If not we will probably still do it just to help the community

It is nice to share the extras! Maybe check with a local tax preparer to find out what they advise you.
