Hi! Chicken newbie here from north/central NJ - I'm in that part that isn't quite north and isn't quite central. Drives me crazy on craigslist! Anyway, we got little chicks about 7 weeks ago. I have been wanting some for 10 years and finally just did it. I ordered 25, got 27, and I now have 21 7 week olds. 12 roos (got to go) and 9 future hens. We also have dogs, cats, rabbits, goats, guinea pig, hermit crabs, koi (yes, I'm very attached to them), and now chickens. We built a huge coop and a little run. I am hoping they will roam during the day when they are older.

I want to thank everyone for being so willing to share their knowledge and support newbies. It seems like no matter how many books and articles I read, something is constantly overlooked and I don't know the answer! So thanks for being here.

Sounds like you've got quite a collection of pets. You live in a beautiful area.

Hello from California!

Congrats on your new chickens, & I love koi too! How big and old are they, and how deep is your pond?

What is NE Chicken Stock - is that sussex fanciers? Or something different? Do tell!

Thanks everyone for the kind welcome.
