Intro to backyard chickens!

Congrats on joining ... I think I should share my Trixie coop project with ya. It was shipped in two boxes... some pieces were broken but fixable..

when I took it out of the box it was tiny!!! Probably decent for a few bantams, but not regular chickens. I thought about it and came up with a fix... let’s put them together?

two house are bigger than one but the chickens will still need a run...

I kept building even though the Trixie coop was cheaply made...

It then started to rain for weeks off and on and in no time the roof and boxes began to leak profusely and began to form mold as well ... the material soaks all the way through even through the roof shingle material ... total garbage, even the wood began to warp..

But there was a fix... a total makeover...

Everything is better so far and the project is closer than ever so I decided to build a little rooster / isolation coop with the left over trixie run material and an old dog cage...

conclusion: plz for the love of god do not buy a Trixie coop of any kind! Hope that helps! 😊
