Hi! I'm just going to go through the recommended questions...

1. I am new to chickens and was gifted my chicks by a friend who knew I've always wanted chickens just shy of two weeks ago.

2. I currently have three 5ish week old chicks one I'm pretty positive is a rooster with a possible 2nd rooster :(

3. Their breed is a mystery... they were given to me by a cattle farmer who likes chickens and homes them from people who get chicks only to not want the responsibility later on. My 3 were from a group of 32 what my brother calls "Easter Rejects"

4. I found BYC by googling 8 million questions that I have about chickens.

5. DIY anything

6. My boyfriend and I have 2 dogs, 3 cats, 1 foster cat, and now 3 chickens.

Oh, and I'm located in New Orleans, LA and doing a rush build with "The Garden Coop" plans. Looking forward to having advice and recommendations to help me out in the process.
