Hello! I have been stalking BYC for a long time without ever joining, but decided to take the leap and join. I am on my second year with chickens. I live in the city and so I was only allowed six hens but this spring I applied for a permit to allow 12. Now I have ten and am trying to figure out which breeds to get to fill in the gap. I absolutely love keeping chickens and it has become a wonderful hobby for me.
I also have a supportive husband who enables all things chicken and eight children who have varying levels of interest in my feathered friends.
So glad to be here officially!

Welcome :jumpy what breeds do you have and what are you thinking to fill in the gap?
I have a buff Orpington, a silverlaced Wyandotte, Easter egger, a barred rock, a speckled Sussex and an australorp that are yearlings. Then I have two light Brahmas and a salmon Faverolle that I got in April. I am really liking the brahmas so far and was thinking of maybe getting another color in that breed. But I also was wanting to do some rare breeds as well. Maybe a Swedish Isbar, Cream Legbar, Flowery Hen, or a FBC Marans. Too many choices and too many restrictions in the city.

My rooster says: Hi, and welcome to our club!
