Intro

Hello, Cassandra, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Have you predator-proof your coop yet?
The coop itself is predator proof when we close it up. We have an attached run as well that we thought was predator proof. We had gone out of town and left the door for the coop to the run open so the girls had access to safe outdoors. While we were gone a raccoon climbed to the roof and pulled the chicken wire seam apart and made a hole then once in was able to make a ground level hole to pull the chickens through.. we will be rebuilding a new coop as the one that was here on the property we don’t like as much as our old coop that we built and had to leave at the old house. When we rebuild the run we will use hardware cloth instead of chicken wire. Until we are able to do that I will be going through and making sure the coop is extra secure for when we move our hen back out there. We have her in a tub in the basement while she recoups and heals.
