1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I've had chickens since I was a kid. My flock is new with the oldest chicken currently one year old. I had a horrible predator problem last spring and had to start over.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now I have 40.
30 hens and 10 roosters....
I have 2 split flocks and 5 of the roosters live with the goats
(3) What breeds do you have?
Most barnyard mixes I hatched from the last eggs of my previous flock. With one chocolate orphing, one buff orphing, one RIR one plymouth rock, one gold laced wyandotte, and a pair of lavender orphings and a pair of splash orphings.
And 1 poop meat chicks currently and 6 hatched so far today
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I just love to take care of live stock. I love gathering eggs and giving them to family for free and just hearing them every day. Gives me purpose
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Goats. My Nigerian Dwarves Gayle, Samantha, Jasmine, & Loki
And my Nubian Princes Officer Jeff & Pete (named by the kids)
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have 2 dogs Inga and Rueben

2 sons, and a Husband
I'm a soon to be RN.... (If covid let's me sit for boards)
And we live on a little 10 acre hill in a tiny yellow Ranch that my grandfather built when my dad was 3.
It's hard to not use my maiden name for my farm because of that. But all my kids and grand kids will be Rhoads.... So our farm is "The Rhoads' Ranch"
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Everytime I search a chicken ailment backyard chickens is the first to pop up. And I have learned so much even from old threads!!! I decided I just need to be apart of it because I take advantage of it every day.
