Hi everyone! I’m Angela!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I “adopted” a chicken last winter when it showed up and started knocking on my door for handouts, lol! How could I say no?
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I now have 8 chickens and 4 turkeys
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have three reds, 1 old fashioned, and 4 silkies
My turkeys are all large breasted, 2 whites and 2 browns. I have to look up their specific names.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching them interact, they’re just great beautiful birds! I also love their individual personalities and they are just calming!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I have a love for flowers and plants as well!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I also have 2 chihuahua’s (mother and daughter) and 3 cats. My son is begging for a pit bull but I’ll be needing a bigger back yard for that! Haha
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I was looking for help! So many things are important with fowl and having turkeys too, well I want them to be happy and healthy!
