(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new. Got my first batch 5 weeks ago.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently have 11.
(3) What breeds do you have?
5 Dominique’s, 1 barred rock, 3 Easter eggers and 3 barnvelders

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
How funny and loving they are. Haven’t made it to laying yet but Im sure that will be another.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I have five children so this is my only hobby

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have an 180 lb bull mastiff who is a great lgd. I also own 6 horses and one donkey for coyotes. Im a stay at home mom.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Google. I’ve known about y’all for a little over a month, and I joined because I can use all the help I can get.

Welcome! I’ve had all those breeds. Great choices! 180 lbs seems like a huge bull mastiff. My Old English Mastiff weighed about that much, but he was on the slender side. Such a big sweet baby. Ask lots of questions. This is a great place to find information!

I love them so much. And he is. He’s pretty slender mostly. And the biggest drooliest baby ever, until you mess with us or the livestock.

2-7 (numbered) my first batch of babies. Number five is my barred rock, Abigail. Was sold them as barred rocks but 1,2,3,4, and 6 are Dominique’s. lost number one (yin) may she Rest In Peace.
8- flidget again.
9,10, and 13 are my Easter eggers. I’ve only named the white one so far. Her name is lily.
12, and 15 my unnamed barnvelders.
number 14 is addie. She’s the teeniest.
16- yang who has sectoral heterochromia.
17- my barred rock Abigail.
18, my baby cracked whom also has sectoral heterochromia
19 yang, flidget and Abigail.
20- me and flidget again
21- flidget being jealous of yang
22-yang again.
