Hi all! Just a quick introduction as a new member

I grew up in western Michigan and now live in the Keweenaw Peninsula. I work in education during the school year and do job training/conservation work in the summer. I live with my fiancé, our three dogs, and our two goldfish. I love spending time outdoors; gardening, swimming, hiking, camping, etc.

I was raised on a hobby farm with lots of chickens, and in my early 20’s had a dear house chicken named Millie. It’s been a few years since she passed and even longer since I’ve been around chickens on a farm, but now that I own a little piece of property I’m ready to get back into it!

This spring I am getting a few chicks, as well as some Muscovy ducklings, and starting my own dual purpose/hobby flock.

I love all birds, but chickens definitely have a special place in my heart. They’re so smart and full of personality. I’ve missed having them and am really excited to have some around again.
