(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I had chickens a few years ago, but wasn't able to keep them where I was living. I moved in 2020 and got some again last spring.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
6, and some eggs in the incubator!
(3) What breeds do you have?
Ameraucanas
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Self-sufficiency, they're lovely pets. I'm hatching some babies soon!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Dungeons & Dragons. Drawing and painting.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm a teacher and I hope to hatch some chicks with my class next year. I live in Northern BC, Canada, so there are some unique challenges to do with the climate here.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
