introduceing a new bird.

does anyone know how I can introduce a chick or chicken to our now 18 month old flock. I cant imagine my girls tolerating another hen,or roo for that matter,but I would like to try. and what would be better, a chick that I raise,or a full grown hen ?

appreciate an answer cause I think I was told once that the older ones always attack a new comer >?

Always better to introduce two or more at once. I always just put them in and let them work it out. You can try putting them in the coop after dark to minimize "attacks".

I would put them in or beside in a separate fenced off or caged area so they can see and be by each other for a few days first it will go much better then just putting them in.
