Hello, we are currently down to one chicken in our coop. A female, bantam. (I forget the exact kind) She's about 3 years old. We recently added 2 more females over the weekend. About the same size and age as our Jackie (yes, we name our chickens 😊) But they are fighting, not constantly, but it's keeping Jackie in the corner of the coop, being nervous. I feel like we just invaded her home with these two new chickens. Not sure whether to try and separate them or what? Does it take a few days or weeks for them to get used to each other? I'd hate to have our Jackie being bullied or vice versa. Any suggestions? Thanks....Carol

Chickens are notorious for pecking to show who is the boss. It is likely one of your new hens is now the Alfa and trying to take the lead. Give it some time, your Jackie will need to restablish her place in the hierarchy. I know it is hard to watch, but she needs to find her placement with the new flock. It can take a few days to a few weeks. My new chickens usually get pecked by the older ones and there lots of screaming... but since she was a lone chicken it has turned to her being the one pecked. It will get better !! They will work it out. Add some treats to the coop
