Hi!
Super new to duck ownership and really would appreciate as much advice as possible

So I have an existing flock of 3 pekin x runners - 1 duck, 2 drakes - 11 almost 12 weeks old

I was at the poultry shop getting food and they had the sweetest khaki browns - they think they're around 4 weeks old - adult feathers coming in.

I asked them if it's okay to introduce them to my existing flock and whether the size difference will be an issue- they said it was fine.

Took them out for a supervised meeting and my two drakes puffed up their heads, stood tall and chased the ducklings- the ducklings were scared and kept hiding behind me and my drakes kept trying to chase them and making hissing noises.

I'm worried that they'll hurt the ducklings, can anyone give any tips or advice

Thanks so much!

You’ll need to use the “look don’t touch” method to introduce them. Set up a pen for the little ones inside the existing pen. That way they can see each other and get used to each other without the little ones getting hurt. Then after about a week, try letting the babies out and see what happens. With mine I was able to keep them out during the day, and then put them back at night. Then after a few days of that they should be able to be together.

How old are the drakes? If they're 4 months or older, you need at least 8 hens total for just those two drakes (4 or more hens per drake is the general rule). Otherwise, they'll become aggressive, and could result in a hen's injury or even death. Do you know the genders of the KC's you got?
