introducing a new chicken to the flock

I have four black sex-link hens that are almost 2yrs old, that live in a confined run were the chickens cant really get away from each other. I have a bantam buff brahama cockerel that is almost a year old that i want to join the flock. The thing is that this rooster is really cowardly and i'm afraid he will get beat up by the hens. he is use to living with bantam millefluer d'uccles, and being the giant. he is about 60-75% the size of the hens. so far i have taken a step by putting him in a cage in the run so that he can meet the hens but not get hurt. will he be able to mate with the hens, two of them get broody every year and i would really like for them to hatch some chicks. what is the best way for me to introduce him, and would the flock accept him? thanks for any help
