Hello,
We have a 2 yr old female Muscovy raised from a week old. She’s an indoor/outdoor (wings clipped, stays in fenced patio pool area when outside). There’s an opportunity to adopt what we’ve been told is a young female Muscovy but exact age unknown and am wondering how two females may get along? This is a pic of the duck we’re considering adopting. Apparently she has ‘pet complex’ and likes to be inside and petted. The other ducks have been picking on her so she’s submissive from what I’m told.

I think they would be great together eventually. I would put them together in a large space with some treats for distraction. Your current duck will still probably act a little mean, it’s her territory, but it will be ok. She will need to accept that the newcomer is staying. It will probably take a few days so don’t expect instant best friends. I only have Mallard derived breeds but my girls are much better at hospitality than my boys.
