I was given last night a new hen named Lucky. She is WAY bigger than the rest of my flock and they aren't getting along so hot. Even my super loving ameracauna went after her! In the past I have kept the newest member in some sort of enclosure so that the other girls can see and interact with her but no one can get hurt. From what I've read this is the best way to go about it. However, night time is a problem! I don't have an extra hen house so I just put her in a box last night and brought her in the human house. I cannot do this night after night. How do I introduce them at night time? My other problem is I have a half blind chicken who is very defensive due to some rough life experiences I think. When I let Lucky briefly free-range with the others yesterday evening her and the blind one really went at it. I don't want the blind one hurt as she is tiny, pretty fragile, and been through a lot. Any advice or should I just be patient??
Thanks!
Thanks!
