Well, it turns out that Cloe, my he-she Maran in the young flock is turning out to be a He. And the dance of the roosters starts again!
My previous intro of a young Ancona roo (got 3 males... surprise!) to my older flock did not work out. The young roo is healing a hurt foot in a separate pen. I thought given the size difference between the existing roosters in that flock (one Ameraucana and one Wyandotte) he would be OK, but he was constantly being chased.

So now we are on for round two. How about putting Cloe/Claude with the older flock? He is still young and not fighty, but matches in size the two other roosters.
I could remove the Wyandotte for a while to ease the intro, but won't he get beat up by the Ameraucana first, then by the Wyandotte when he returns?
Am I thinking way too much about all this ? (No need to respond, I know the answer to that!).
Short of sending them to freezer camp, I need to do something. My new flock has now 5 roosters with all these unexpected boys. The older flock has two. The old flock (mostly 1 1/2 year olds) has about 50 hens. The new flock has about 60 hens.
Thank you for your help.

well I guess I'm replying but I've heard for baby chicks you let them sleep with the other chickens and then take them out in the morning. Do this for a couple of nights before permanently letting the chick with the rest of the flock for the day and knight.
