I have a 10X20 run and 10X10 roosting/ nesting area. I have 7 nests and the current 12 hens only use 2 or 3 of them. I think I will open the chicks area tonite after they go on roost. I have set up a second feed station and Water fountain so they can have some free space. I'm sure they will be ok. 15 littler hens and 12 adult hens. When I talk of little they are all good size for 8-9 weeks.
Everything went well so far. No conflicts.the little one stay together and the little rooster guards the door. The adults will walk around them and just cluck a little.
One of the new one did lay an egg in the nest. About the size of a quarter. Really early at 9 weeks.
I guess I'll just keep an eye on them and be sure they get things in order.
