Introducing a rooster to a broody hen

We are about to put a new rooster in with our silkies but I think one hen went broody this morning. Anyone introduce new chickens to a coop with a broody hen? How did it work out?

It'll Be just fine . Keep an eye on them for a few minutes just to be safe.

He will want to mate all hens shortly after being introduced. Here broody behaviors may not be sufficient to repel him. His mating her on nest could be problematic for eggs. I would isolate such hens from the drama of a new rooster.

It may be 'just fine', but I doubt it.

Depends on the new cockbird....and if you have any other males in the flock.
Do you want that broody to set and hatch eggs?
Do you have fertile eggs for the broody?
He may break her broodiness by harassing her.

Well, I spoke too soon and she's playing with the idea of being broody but hasn't quite decided yet. Stinker!!
